Clocks and Watches, An Historical Bibliography By G. H. Baillie This Book has lots of pages and a Name and Subject Index. It is all black printing and no Color Photos. It is much used as a Reference Book by Pocket Watch Collectors. I recommend it as a much needed Book for Pocket Watch Collectors. It is getting very hard to find a Copy of this Book

How about "It's About Time" by Major Paul Chamberlain, 1941 (original edition only--all reprints are poor with bad paper and quality of the plates). Hunt and one can find a copy very reasonable.

This large and thick book covers many watches and is well written and is an easy read about the Major's experiences chasing watches and information from many sources from various countries. It also has good technical explanations, historical discussions and photos.

One of the most popular books on horology, it was published posthumously a year after this death by his wife. mAn old watch collector friend of mine (long since deceased) knew Chamberlain and corresponded with him regularly (and his wife after he passed). I was given a massive collection of Chamberlain's photos of his watches many years ago, many of which weren't published in his book by my old friend. This has proven to be a great research tool in arriving at pedigrees of watches attributed to the Major's collection, some of which were not in his famous brass display cases which he perfected.

This Book by an American has got me out of trouble many times, and I consider it be one of the best Books for Pocket Watch Collectors-Repairers to own.
