A well respected maker to boot.
Very nice example. Do you think the enamel is contemporary with the watch or a later addition?

What I know is that I have seen one other very similar and they appear period, but how long after the movements were made is anyone's guess.

They are very unusual and certainly something to discuss and research. Fortunately we are able to spot, buy and collect these types of oddments and have a place to show for discussion. This is all good.

I see two good English pendulum watches are at auction in Germany on May 6th.

https://www.cortrie.de/

See lots 4133 (John Bushman - a very good name), and 4134 (Peter Garon, another very good name).

Are you going for one or both? Yes, they are excellent names.

I am not familiar with this house and trying to read German is not my thing.

Thanks, though.

I don't know this auction house either but both watches went very reasonable, about 1/2 what they would bring in England or the U.S. ... then again, need to consider fees, shipping, etc.
