Omega's 19 Grade was made in 16S and 18S (or approximate) sizes. Does anyone know how much parts interchangeability exists between the two sizes? For reference see Complete price Guide 2017, bottom of page 536. In particular I'd like to know if train wheels, regulator, etc. are interchangeable. Obviously the plates are different sizes, but I'm not sure if train layout is identical on the two sizes.
Thanks,

Depends of the quality of the grade. You cannot use from an average quality movement to repair a high grade movement, even if they are the same caliber.
The older ones are NOT interchangeable. Some of the calibers were used for 20 plus years.
To be safe, find one exactly the same. |

Thanks, Neil. Yes - there is a wide variety in the quality and finish of these watches. The higher quality ones are nice. I haven't owned enough of them to be real familiar,
