Isn't it possible to take a piece of a stand alone jewelry design and add it to a plain case with a surrounded ring?
The appropriate question is WHEN was it done? |

Yes.
Pieces like this were "put together." Was this one originally intended to be what it became? Was it a family piece repurposed by a family jeweler? Was it lately put together? I guess we can't really know. |
