We were poking around in a junk shop over the weekend.
One of those places packed to the roof with stuff and you have to walk in sideways to fit down the narrow isle way.

In the middle we spotted this.
The other half being an artist herself was immediately taken with it and after some discussion it became her birthday present.

In appearance it is not a piece of finely crafted furniture and is built along very simple lines but at the same time it is built solid.

On the other hand someone has invested a lot of time in the decoration.

Don't think it is Chinese or Japanese. Indian perhaps.

The question is - What is it or what do I call it.

Closest I can think of is a Collectors Cabinet

What do you think.
