Gentlemen , I have recently acquired a M-1860 16KW movement in the American Watch Company Grade in gilt in excellent original condition. I would like to case it and I know that the proper cases are practically non-existent. What other options do I have in this regard? Thanks, Sandlapper

If it was mine then my first attempt would be, start from a bargain-basement 16s stemwind watch that's lost its crown & winding/setting parts, and see if that would hold it. If so, then just drill a hole through the inner dust cover to shove the winding key through.

That would be the "budget" way to tackle to the problem. Other collectors may or may not agree with this approach...

I have lost count of the "P" word I gave used as 1 advice to collectors to collectors.

Invite this guy over here and I'll be happy to guide him to a decent 60 KW case without and thus saving s SW case!
