as to some of the experts on values i read above it is amusing to read how i did on watches i sold prior to the bonham sale i did very well on what i sold privately

The secret in buying (any collectible) is to know what to buy and how much to pay for it.
This has been one of my mainstay rules for over 55 years of advanced collecting of many things. |

Its a hard lesson to learn -
I suppose if one had 55 years to collect then it would be possible to know this.
Im doing this 25 years and still making mistakes~~  |

You can't keep buying low and selling high.
Eventually the music stops and the correction comes and someone takes a hit.
Then the music starts again  |

If your hobby is watch collecting the cost is the cost.
If your hobby is trading then it doesn't matter that much what you are trading the same rules apply.
I do both but never in the same field.
I collect watches and trade other things.
That is how I keep my business and pleasure separate but everyone is different and everyone has their own rules. |

Actually 65 years--I just didn't count the first 10.
Being fully active in the market IS A MUST, as well as learning true rarity, originality and condition makes for informative decisions. |
