Hi Steve -

Do you think it would be productive if you noted where these are observed?

Neil

My thoughts are it would not add any value to the posts.

Brian

It works for me. I don't know if the problem is with the different computers and operating systems. I use a MacBook Pro.

hi steve,
I have seen a Waltham model 83 with a Waltham dial and a private label movement. I also see that you have listed a couple here on this page.
from what you have seen, was this a common practice for Waltham, marking the movements but not the dial ?

Hi Wayne

Yes it was common practice for Waltham to offer private label movements only, private label movements with private label dials and regular movements with private label dials.

I have over 1,400 Model 83's recorded with private label markings. Some private label movements I have recorded, I have not seen a dial marked with the same name. For example, I have 17 movements recorded with Charles S. Hart on the barrel bridge. Not one of the 17 have a dial marked with his name.

However it is more common to have a private label dial on a regular movement than it is to have a private label movement with a Waltham dial.
