As many of you know the n/a is removing the on line ad section--I guess they have come to the conclusion that web sites do not work. Of course, they (purposely) did not promote this feature. Heck, there is more pimping for goods, services and wants on the PW section of the message board!

Here is Tom's reply!

Hi Jon,

"It's being discontinued because it takes a lot of staff time and no one is using it.

Be happy to discuss it further if you wish."

Best,
Tom

TYPICAL N/A--the dues increase and the member services get decreased!

I hope everyone notices that there was no member input, but that is the dictatorial way of the n/a.

Another sad day in the annals of the assoc!

It was not well used since it wasn’t promoted by the NAWCC. The program they have is not user friendly. And the Admin and Moderators let members post their parts wanted/ items want list on the actual NAWCC message board. I suggested a long time ago that the parts want / items wanted list should have been taken off the message board and every member directed to the 4sale.nawwc.org site. Of course the backlash I got from almost every Admin and Moderator shut down that idea.

I am one of the members that have used the 4Sale site. I have listed the Chapter 149 mouse pads on the site. I have bought watches, books and magazines from there also. W

When I first started selling the mouse pads I posted them in the Chapter News and Views section of the message board. The posts were permitted a few times and then the moderators told me to use the 4sale site and some of my posts in the Chapter News and Views were moderated and then deleted. Yet there is one person that advertises his calendars every year, posting multiple posts, even the Admin and Moderator post a sticky at the top of the forums so the calendar ads are prominently displayed.

Saying all this, I would like to take Tom Bartels to task and have him find a better program to use, keep the 4Sale site active and have all parts wanted / items needed and other items for sale taken off the message board and put on the site like it should be. If the 4Sale site was promoted properly by the NAWCC people would use it.

It was doomed to fail the moment they made it a members only perk.

Any member serious about selling has their own site or is on ebay.

I would like to add my 2 cents worth on this topic of reduced services.

This is just another reason why I quit my membership long ago.

The NAWCC for years have been reducing services to its members and obviously it is continuing. At some point the association will have nothing to offer. The members experienced a reduced bulletin with no mart on the odd months; reduced national convention days; poor convention venues--where will it end?

Mr. Bartels blames extra staff help. If there was a clear site that operated with ease, how much staff time would be required?

When I was the American pocket watch moderator, wasn't there a sales site on chapter 149 which was a topic on the main NAWCC MB?

In any event the staff time issue is a poor excuse.

Howard

So, some of us long paying dues members are being denied use of a membership service that we have been using for many years--the nawcc web mart!

This is an easy fix--PROMOTE IT AMONG THE MEMBERSHIP, maybe place it on the MB website in its own category for members only. Heck, one old f... has his own internal n/a forum--WHY CAN"T THERE BE A MART?

Have any of the members seen it listed or promoted with the paper mart?

Utter nonsense.......... a lack of web skills and leadership ignorance!

There is a for sale section and a wanted section here and as far as I can tell they motor along just fine with little or no oversight from anyone.

Jon, is there ANYTHING on the MB that you have access to anymore? They have pretty much stripped you of any and all privileges / services.

Were I you I'd be asking " what DO my dues pay for anyway?"
