Now that a new Government has come to power with a clear majority in the lower house we should see an end to party politics if favour of getting on with the job of Governing the country.

Check out the latest member of our upper house.

Ricky Muir - http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/federal-election-2013/likely-senator-dodges-questions-about-kangaroo-poo-fight-video-20130909-2tf8j.html

For years the major parties have been playing games with the preference system and keeping themselves in power.

It has now all gone wrong and blown up in their faces.

This guy will go from being on the doll to a senators wage of nearly 200k not to mention the perks like super the rest of us can only dream about.

He got ZERO POINT FIVE ONE % of the primary vote and he won.

What a joke.

It's amazing how fast politicians can act when they are the ones who need something.

I didn't have to go back far to find a thread I put up about the new Aussi government.

Remember the way the old one went with Rudd and Gillard stabbing each other in the back.

We will fix all that the new mob said.

Vote for stability.

Yea right

Now a 50/50 chance we will have a new Prime Minister by Wednesday next week.
Not clear yet who it might be.
All the players are keeping their cards very close just now.

What brought this on you might ask.

One of the dumbest moves yet.

Some years ago the Australian Government, don't remember which but likely a Labor one, abolished knighthoods.

After that the highest honor that could be bestowed around here was the
"Order of Australia"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_honours_system#Categories_of_honours_and_awards

For reasons best known to himself Abbot decided to bring knighthoods back.
He decided to give out only 2 and all may yet have been OK had he chosen wisely.

BUT

Again for reasons only known to himself (a committee of one in this matter) he decided to give one to Prince Phillip.

This has gone down like a floating brown you know what in a big bowel of punch and has even re ignited the debate about becoming a republic.

See here - http://edition.cnn.com/2015/01/25/asia/australia-day-prince-philip-knighthood/index.html

It has demonstrated like nothing else could have how out of touch with current thinking he is and thus we are where we are.

Latest Joke doing the round

PILLOW TALK:

"Oh I say, Queenie, isn't it jolly dashed decent of that colonial chappie to give me a knighthood?"

"Oh yes rather, Philly. Isn't he the chap the Orstralians say is a badger smuggler. It makes one think why on earth would one want to smuggle a badger?"

"Oh yes, Queenie - it does sound a frightful bore. The dashed thing is that we will have to give him a title in return."

"I know, Philly - we can make him a knight of the order of the Royal Brown Nose."

"A jolly capital idea, Queenie - we can dub him 'Sir Pository'."

"Oh that is super, Philly - I am slightly amused."

Things are moving quickly.

The Liberal back bench indicated it will move a leadership spill at the party meeting on Tuesday.

Abbot has struck back bringing the meeting forward to Tomorrow giving his opponents less time to get organised.

People have to be very careful now because if they pick the wrong side they will end up in the wilderness.

Abbot has avoided a spill motion with a vote of 61 to 39.

It still indicates he has a lot of work to do and can not afford to make any more mistakes.

Also because there was no election some may not have shown their hand.

What are the odds there will be a re shuffle in the next little while.

People to reward, or punish ??????????????????????????????????

Abbot still in trouble with no clear majority support and another spill a real chance.

It only feels like yesterday when I wrote the above posts and the silly buggers are at it again.

That's right another leader is in trouble.

There has been rumbling for a couple of weeks now and this morning the PM stepped down and called for a leadership vote.

Peter Dutton threw his hat in the ring but lost by 7 votes.

Dutton has now stepped down from his ministerial position and will sit on the back bench with Tony Abbott where they will now doubt cause more trouble in the near future.

Some experts are already saying Turnbull is a " dead man walking " and it is only a matter of time.

With an election on the horizon this is the last thing the Liberal party needs.

Looks like Christmas has come early for the Labour Party.

All friendship has now ceased.
Dutton has gathered more support and now claims he has the numbers.
He has called for another leadership vote.

A third faction has emerged and they claim they have the numbers.

Turnbull has hit back by saying that if he gets voted out he will resign his seat which will cause a by election that the Libs will loose and that will cost them their majority.

This would bring on an early election.

What a mess.

Labour of course is not saying to much because this is a repeat of what happened to them in the Rud, Gillard, Rudd, saga not that long ago that cost them power and gave Labour leadership to Bill Shorten.

Shocked Shocked Shocked

It now appears certain that Turnbull will fall on his sword at a party meeting called for 12 noon today.

There are 3 front runners for the top job.

Julie Bishop
Scott Morrison
Peter Dutton

and Tony Abbot as an outside chance.

So in the last 10 years it will be

Rudd
Gillard
Rudd
Abbott
Turnbull
??????

What a disgrace and imagine the waste of money as each change brings in new friends to be rewarded and new enemies to be punished.

No wonder Aussies have such a low opinion of politicians.

That's not even the end yet because next year is election year and if labor wins which appears more and more likely there will be another one.
More than likely Shorten.

It came to pass as predicted.

Our new PM is Scott Morrison.

Till the next election with a bit of luck so we should get 12 months out of him.
