If you are in it for pleasure I would say buy the ones you like.
That way you will always be happy with them.

If you are in it for profit then you need to do a lot of homework first.
Look learn and soak up information.
Use as many sources as you can find as opinions vary.
Even then there are no guarantees so don't invest money you can't afford to loose.

Of course if you are in it for pleasure then these things are not so important but still worth consideration.

Dick -- Don't buy anything for a while. Reading as much as you can just on this board will get you far and maybe keep you from making an expensive mistake. As Jon will gladly tell you, there are lots of messed up watches loose in the world, and it isn't always easy to see how they have been screwed up. So take your time. When you do want to splash for a piece, buy only from a reputable source in whatever venue you look in.
