Only a few days to go and all this political bull will be over.

As expected this has become a dirty election with most of the TV adds now promising nothing.

All we get is a bunch of mud throwing and bad mouthing.

If the Adds are even half right the lot of them belong in Jail.

The only guy making any promises is Palmer and his promises are so far over the top as to be laughable.

He is going to wipe out the National debt, end unemployment, make Australia great again, increase the pension by $150 a week, raise wages, and eliminate medical waiting lists by giving companies a huge tax break so that they can spend spend spend and make the government rich with all the GST they will collect.

Even in Noddy Land such a scheme would not work. Shocked

Peace at last.

We have a 48 hour media ban on election advertising.

Election on Saturday so the ban kicked in at Midnight last night.

Last evening there were more election adds than regular ones.

Palmer must have spent a fortune.

It all happened last night and nothing went to plan.

The betting agencies had labor penciled in to win but they got it wrong.

Scot Morrison, the man who was put in to save the furniture appears to have won the day.

Counting started at 6 pm last night and around midnight Bill Shorten conceded. He has also stepped down as labor leader.

Shortly after Scomo addressed his supporters and his opening comment was

" I do believe in miracles" .

There is still a long way to go in the counting and it is still not clear if the Libs will be able to govern in their own right or if they will have to form a minority government but they will be there for another term.

With all the distractions about popularity polls and the green vote and the environment and Clive it appears on this occasion the silent majority has won the day.

Tis also interesting to note that Clive Palmer who has spent close to 50 million on advertising may not get a single seat.

Some of the betting agencies today have red faces.

They were so sure labor would win a couple paid out early.

Yes, we Australians do have the gift of being able to see right through politicians.

Looks like the Libs will get a majority in their own right.

That's good.

Not sure about the Senate.

It won't be as bad as it was but the greens will still be a force to deal with.

The pity of it all is that if the 2 main parties could stop playing politics for a bit and actually consider what is best for the country TOGETHER they could push through whatever they wanted and the loons could do nothing about it.
