OK, here goes a true story about an original Fasoldt watch movement destroyed:

Over 20 years ago my late dear friend Patrick Harmon was attending a NY auction that had watches and jewelry, etc. Pat hit auctions all over the country regularly for many years and this auction had a near complete nickel Fasoldt movement and dial missing its wheels/grears trains, hands, motion works, etc., etc. So, he buys the movement but gets outrageously out bid for a bag of watch parts, screws, wheels, pinions and all kinds if other jewelry crap. He approaches the lady (who claimed she bought the bag of junk to use MAKE WOMENS JUNK JEWELRY) and asks, " I will pay you a high price for any parts that might fit my movement I bought here today if you will simply allow me to look through your bag." Furious, the bitchy lady yells, "absolutely NO." Pat trys to explain that he just wants the parts that belong to his movement and nothing else and then this broad gets even more loud and nasty.

Bottom line-- it can be tough to explain this type of thing to a non
watch person, and probably some other New Yorker either is wearing (or has in her drawer) a Fasoldt earring, bracelet , pin or necklace!

And, I am still sitting here over 2 decades later looking for parts thanks to an idiot................. Crying or Very sad
