Polish silveroids, silverenes (white brass) THEN handle them for a nice resulting fingerprint!

Polish up silver cases only to remove design then blemish them when handling which requires more polishing--soon you will have a PLAIN POLISH case. Ones' finger touches and mouth sprays are filled with acids which affect silver and silveroids, et al.

Gold filled--keep 'em bright (machine polish, polishing compound, or rag) and soon they will be brass!

Gold case polishing--remove the gold, ruin the edges and flatten the design and end up with crap (a scrapper)!

If a case is dirty with "junk/yuck" in the crevices, edges, springs, design, etc., use warm soap and water and (maybe) a very soft brush. BUT, then one MUST DRY THE CASE COMPLETELY or pay the price for rust and more eventual crud.

REMEMBER, cases are crisp, sharp and NEW only once--metal loss cannot be replaced!
