I have a beautiful Dietrich Gruen movement that's looking for a case. I believe these came in either ornately engraved (back, bezel, crown and bow - possibly multi-color) Of cases, but I've also seen a couple in a plain (back, bezel, crown and bow) 18K yellow gold case. And I believe the cases have the marks;

All leads appreciated!

What size?

Does it have to be gold?

Neil, the measurements are;
1. top plate / bridge level diameter - 39.5mm
2. pillar plate diameter - 41mm
3. dial ridge with dial attached diameter - 43mm
4. center post with hands attached to the raised center jewel setting depth - 7.5mm
5. top plate / bridge level to dial (attached) depth - 6mm
6. pillar plate top to dial (attached) depth is 4mm - the two case screws are at this level

And I'd like to make it as "like sold" as possible - I'm not aware that these were available in anything but gold cases ...

This is about a 12 size.

I have a Gruen 12s YGF case somewhere.

You have a very tall order for your case requirements. Likely the case was scrapped for the gold.

Good Luck!

Yes, I figure the case was either scrapped or swapped with a movement which had its case scrapped ... and I do have a Gruen Madretsch 10s and a couple of Madretsch 16s movements that need cases as well! Thanks for looking!
