I think I recognize the AWCO 88' as one that another 149er in the South posted a while back?

The person that owned that website was Stan Hoffman. I don't know if he is still alive or not.

He used to be on Web Horology but he was another one that Sam had problems with after a while. After Stan left Web Horology, Sam had changed Stan's user id and name to something else instead of leaving the user id and name on the web site.

Stan did post on the nawcc web site using the name Timebuilder.

He was a seller on ebay. Sam kept a close eye on him. Keith

Stan, the man, was famous for stiffing folks--he reportedly was not to be trusted. I believe he died some years ago.

Bryan, I did buy that '88 from Stan. Funny thing I paid him via personal check which actually got lost in the mail and he got real nervous till I got another to him. He told me that he found the movement in a scrapper/jeweler store and that the case had not been scrapped yet but was in the back room. It is one of the most beautiful conditioned '88 s alive! BTW, another lucky person owns this now.

Thanks, very cool story and thought it looked familiar!

And yes, I do remember Timebuilder's posts from Web Horology now
